Muskoxen Unity

The muskoxen have learned the secret of defense. When they see danger approaching, they all run together. If only one predator is in sight, they form a line, facing the enemy. If they are surrounded, they form a tight circle, head and horns facing outward. Their young are safe inside the circle. If the herd stays together in that circle, their defense is virtually impenetrable. But if one strays away, that loner is easy to kill.
What a lesson on the power of unity! Together, the muskoxen are a formidable obstacle to prowling wolves. Their protective instincts keep the young safe and preserve the herd. The outward stance enables them to detect danger coming from all sides. They are ready to use their powerful horns to stop any invader who dares to advance.
As believers, we too are stronger when we stand together, facing the world and all of its dangers with a keen eye and determined conviction. The outward gaze takes us away from infighting and self-absorption and gives us a larger mission. It puts us in position to see needs and bring changes to the world. And it readies us to resist evil and protect those values we hold dear. Just take a clue from the muskoxen.
